As an Eco-Fused customer and an amateur photographer, I was invited to do Product Testing/Review for future products that I might like to purchase. I agreed as I’ve enjoyed my previous purchases.
I first tried the Lens Kit out at an outdoor graduation. While putting it together the first time, I fumbled with it and dropped it and it ‘popped’ apart when it landed. I wasn’t worried about my phone because the case that the kit came with was durable and protected it (and it landed on grass!) but instead I was worried about the lens accidentally being forced off of the case – but no harm was done to either.
*The Phone Clamp has a soft, spongy pad that the phone rests on. If the phone slides forward a bit, (there isn’t an edge/lip to stop it) it can sometimes be pushed out from the strength of the clamp and shoot right out of the clamp. This is how I dropped the phone. Now that I was aware of this, I was careful after that.
I was able to take Telephoto pictures of my son in the far, vast sea of graduates- and with clarity! This is what made me really like this lens kit the most because I was so happy to have close up pictures of his smiling face! (Also, I was the envy of every parent with a Smartphone camera because I could!)
I then tested the Telephoto by taking pictures of birds at my feeder. They were moderately close, but not as close up, crisp and clear as I thought they would be. There went my idea of being a ‘professional’ nature photographer, but they were good enough for me.
Switching to the Wide Angle lens gave almost panoramic-like pictures of my back yard that came out truly lovely. I can see myself using this lens for outdoor scenery pictures. This will definitely be a boon to my ‘portfolio’.
Not being sure what to use a Fish Eye lens for, I googled pictures taken with one. Wow. It takes a regular picture of something and distorts (rounds) it with beauty. I tried it on some of my flower gardens and it makes a compact, colorful effect. It was different and nice.
The Macro lenses took *extremely* close up –clear- shots of my engagement ring. What could have been mistaken for dirt was in fact the actual FLAWS inside of the diamond! That’s how close and clear it took the pictures! I will use this to take up close jpegs of vintage jewelry to sell.
In a perfect world, I would like to have the benefits of those huge cameras people bring to their kids’ school play and (I assume) get amazing pictures from—but with a much lower cost and portability. I can see myself toting this little velvet pouch with me everywhere as it’s so pocket-able, and at a whim easily assembling it and getting those telephoto shots as well, and at the envy of others!
I already know that I can use the wide angle lens for Panoramic like shots of gardens and parks and can add to that the Fish Eye effect!
I think this Lens Kit is going to really help me out taking a variety of pictures I couldn’t have before and I’m glad that I learned about it through product testing. I’m going to keep my eye out for more things to come from Eco-Fused- so far, this kit and my waterproof S4 case have worked out great!
