First of all sorry about the grammar , English is not my first language.

Just bought the 40 inch version to use as a PC monitor , i was not interested in anything else like 3D or Smart TV so i cant review that but i can tell you that this tv looks amazing hooked up to a GTX 970 i can run some older games at 4k@60hz and the newer games i have to run at 1080p but this tv does an amazing job at scaling , so 1080p looks pretty good and i can get great frames per second. i had to change windows dpi to 200 because at 100 the icons and text looks prety small, and i dont want to strain my eyes, but yeah i can confirm that this tv does support chroma 4:4:4 at 4k@60hz . i have it on my desk and i sit 2 feet away from the tv and at this distance you can really appreciate 4k i dont know if this tv is worth it if you are planning on using on the consoles like xbone and ps4 because they do not support 4k but if you plan on using this as a pc monitor it is an amazing experience. if you need more info about this monitor you can go to this forum which is where i did my research before buying this

but I hope this information is useful to those who are looking at this TV for …, March 31, 2015
This review is from: Samsung UN48JU6700 Curved 48-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (Electronics)
Finally, an incredible curved 4K TV that’s suitable as a PC monitor for work, gaming, and entertainment! This is far from a complete review, but I hope this information is useful to those who are looking at this TV for similar use. Apologies ahead of time if this information isn’t well organized, as it’s more of a mind dump.

I’m using this set solely as a desktop monitor. It’s connected to an Asus STRIX GTX 970, and I can confirm it does so at 4k@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling over HDMI. For this to work, you must connect to the HDMI1 port, and must edit the device type in the options menu for the HDMI1 port to ‘PC’. It’s not obvious, but to access the options menu, you must select ‘down’ on the directional keypad when the HDMI source is selected. For anyone interested, I’m using a 6ft length of the Mediabridge HDMI 2.0 cable I purchased at Amazon – http://amzn.com/B0019EHU8G

I was worried about input lag, but I can’t detect even the slightest delay. I don’t have any actual numbers, but that’s because I didn’t feel the need to find out. For those who can relate, within minutes of COD gameplay with my trusty Ballista, I had no doubts this is a fast screen. It even feels faster than my Dell 30007WFP that it replaces. Since I only have a single GTX 970, I had to play certain games at 1080P for playable frame rates. This set upscales beautifully, and doesn’t incur any penalty in the way of input lag.

As for the size, I was torn between the 40" and the 48", but I’m glad I chose the 48". I sit 2 feet away from my monitor, and I still find the need to raise the DPI to 125% in windows on this set. On my Dell 3007WFP, I was comfortable with the DPI at 100%. I’m certain text would’ve been way too small on the 40" at 100% DPI at the native resolution.

Finally, the screen is glossy. But it’s definitely less glossy than the screen on my Razer Blade. Still, you can see a reflection if there’s a strong light source behind you. I have two windows behind me, and with the blinds shut in the middle of the day, I don’t notice them.

Purchased my 48" JU6700 from Video Only, received 3/17/15. Very impressed with out of the box performance, movie mode and sound modes very good. Mounted in corner on wall with a Sanus full motion arm – looks awesome!
Couple of minor quibbles:
1) new Tizen operating system is sparsely populated with apps – no Netflix yet… Although I understand that’s coming very soon.
2) wifi had a hard time recognizing my network at first – perhaps this will become more stable with future firmware updates?

Otherwise I’m very pleased with this set. 1080i from DIRECTV and 1080p from Apple TV look great up scaled to near 4K, and Amazon Instant 4K looks terrific too. Impressed with audio performance as well. I was talked into this model instead of the 7500 as the sales manager told me there is really no visible difference between them, and after a/b testing in store and my experience so far at home, I have to agree – a really good buy!

This is a pretty, well made cover but the only thing is I wish it stayed closed better…sometimes the magnets don’t hold as well as they should. I just use caution when carrying my camera around, I am afraid it will fall out.

Armorsuit Military Shield- samsung galaxy note 10.1 shield + lifetime warranty, October 3, 2012

This review is from: ArmorSuit MilitaryShield – Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Screen Protector Shield + Lifetime Replacements (Electronics)
A lot of these shields have gotten a bad review. Simply because most people had no idea how to put them on…

I have been putting these shields on my cellphone and other family member’s cellphones for a very long time. It gets easier the more you do it, like most things.

This shield and the most popular Zagg Invisible shield are made out of the same material and come with the same tools to apply them( the application solution, mini squeegee and a microfiber cloth).

I did notice the directions with this shield seemed a little bit useless. So I will tell you exactly how to do it.
1. Wash your hands with soap and water and dry them well to eliminate any dirt fingerprint marks on the shield.
2. Take the shield out of the box, before removing it from the film it is on, spray an even amount of solution on it.
3. Now spray your fingering of the hand you will be using to remove the shield from the film. ( I spray both hands just to make sure I make no mistake in touching it and making prints).
4. Remove the shield from the film and quickly spray an even amount of solution.
5. Gently place it on yourban device, now if it is not lined up with the front facing camera and the sensor right, your can just lift the shield of spray it again and line it up right. That is what I love about these shields.
6. Now use your squeegee to remove as much of the solution from under the shield ****be sure NOT to squeegee toward the speakers or any opening of your device****. If the squeegee beings to get dry spray it a little bit so it doesn’t pull on the shield.
There may be some solution left under the screen. Do not worry it does go away in a few days!!:). If you do make a mistake not to worry they are LIFETIME Warranty!!! Just contact the manufacturer and they’ll get you a new one ASAP.
If you did it right it will look flawless when it is completely dried. I have had 0 problems with my S Pen responsiveness. My screen is crystal clear.

This works great and I wouldnt have any device without a screen protector just like it. Only issue I had was my sound stopped working for awhile. I think some of the solution that is used to apply the protector got into the speakers. If I had to do it again I would put some masking tape over the speakers until done.

I got this 4 days ago and promptly applied it to my new tablet. Putting the protector on was a little messy and the result somewhat horrified me at first but within the first 6 hours, the plastic started settling down and the bubbles started to gather. At the end of 2 days, the bubbles were almost all gone. At the moment, (4 days later), I can see 1 or two left.

The stylus works well with the protector on. I put the protector on the tablet as soon as I received it so I might not have as an informed evaluation of how the stylus works differently on the glass. However, the stylus performance exceeded my expectations and was much better than other tablets without a filmy protector.

I like the texture/feel of the protector as well. It’s a little soft and and the slight imprinting resulting from heavy stylus use is actually somewhat settling, as you watch it disappear in a few hours and feel safe that you won’t be scratching your tablet any time soon. The protector is also easy to wipe off when your annoying friend decides to test it out with greasy fingers and returns to clarity immediately. Overall, a pretty good item.

Five things you’ll want to know about this tablet, March 17, 2014
By

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 4G LTE Tablet, Black 12.2-Inch 32GB (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)
1. A mouse!
Ok, so I was amazed. Yes, with a Bluetooth mouse connected, an arrow icon actually appears on the screen and you can use it pretty much like any mouse on a conventional PC. I’m using the Microsoft Sculpt Touch mouse but any Bluetooth one will work. You can also connect a keyboard at the same time.

2. Limited amount of accessories and ridiculous prices thereof
Because of its newness, there are a limited number of accessories and cases for this tablet. Furthermore, I guess because companies like Zagg and Logitech believe you’re willing to overpay for the tablet, they can charge you a premium for accessories. 9 for a keyboard/case? You must be kidding.

3. Amazon video/Flash player:
Streaming video from your Amazon account is hard. I was accustomed to using Amazon’s streaming video app on the iPad to watch tv shows and movies I get from Amazon. There is no such app for Android devices. It can be done via the installation of an obscure “Dolphin” browser, an older version of Adobe Flash and then jimmying with settings to put it all together, but it’s complicated especially with this tablet running KitKat. I was successful, but it took a while. I understand this is because of a disagreement between Google (Android’s developer), Amazon and Adobe. This is very unlike Amazon and Google (but less so for Adobe) and I wish they would get over themselves and help their customers. BTW, there are no problems watching Netflix, YouTube or Hulu using their respective apps.

4. New Charging / sync connector on cord
The Note Pro uses a new Micro USB 3.0 connector. It’s wider than the one that THE ENTIRE REST OF THE PLANET USES. You can use an old-style Micro USB charger, but it takes much longer to charge it than if you use the cord that comes with it. Also, there are no USB 3.0 car chargers (that I’ve been able to find, anyways)

5. Pricing and obsolescence
The "professional" reviews of this tablet are lukewarm- mostly revolving around the reviewer’s opinion of its high price and "who would want a tablet with this large of a screen?" These reviews can slow sales and drive the price down. The price of this tablet may decline at a faster rate than usual. I took the recommendation of one of the reviewers. I purchased it without a contract.

Other thoughts:
I’ve been using this device intensively for a week now as a replacement for an aging iPad and hopefully a replacement for an infrequently used notebook. If you’re used to holding an iPad, this tablet will take some getting used to. Once you’ve had it for a few days, you won’t want to take your hands off of it. For me, it is a near-notebook replacement, especially if you add a keyboard and a mouse. The Hancom office software is shockingly close in appearance and functionality to Microsoft Office.

Although it’s probably a function of the device’s newness, many applications are designed for tablets with smaller screens. Some do not rotate, some do not fill the screen properly, etc.

This is the first widely available device running the "KitKat" version of Android. Expect some bugs. I spent a considerable amount of time installing apps, setting up email, etc. I found that the battery was draining quickly even with the unit off- like a drop from 80% to 50% in five hours with no use and the battery indicator said the source of the usage was the Android operating system. VZW’s support determined that there was likely a software download that was running in background and "stuck" and that was draining the battery. The only way to fix the problem was to do a factory reset and re-install all the applications, redo the configuration, etc. After doing that, the battery life extended to what’s been advertised- it lasts all day in frequent use and will clearly last for days with infrequent use before charging.

A Beast of a Tablet!, June 12, 2014
By
G. Bluitt (Chicago, IL) – See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 4G LTE Tablet, Black 12.2-Inch 32GB (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)
I originally owned a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet, and it worked great, but I was hoping for something bigger, so when this tablet was announced I was annoyed and overjoyed all at once (annoyed because had Samsung announced it sooner, I would have not purchased the 10.1 2014 Edition).

I picked the LTE version because it was easier for me to get it from Verizon on a payment plan (Device Payment Plan, only available in Verizon stores, not online).

Once I got it home and started to play with it, I realized there would be a new learning curve for this tablet, similar to the 10.1 2014 Edition. While the button placement is the same, one of the buttons has been changed from "Menu" to "Recent Apps" (This is also the case on their newer phones starting with the Galaxy S5). That took some getting used to (actually still getting used to it lol). Also, the size was an adjustment as well, as it is not as easy to hold as a 10.1" tablet, but you have to expect this since this is a bigger tablet. Not just the dimensions, but the weight of the tablet is a noticeable difference from the 10.1". Finally, this tablet comes with KitKat (Android 4.4.2) installed. There are some differences with the previous versions. Most of the changes are under the hood, but also some buttons have been given new names (GPS = Location), new looks (Location Button looks like a location icon from Google Maps instead of the old GPS lock symbol) and some things have been moved or given a separate section of their own (Default Applications is now it’s own section).

Also, if you do not have a Galaxy Note 3 or a Galaxy S5, you will need to get used to the new Micro USB 3.0 standard that Samsung is using for this tablet and others devices going forward. Contrary to a previous review, the charging port is NOT wider than EVERY single other charger port used. And, you can still use older Micro USB charging cables, it will just perform slightly slower (although I have found out that the performance hit can be offset if you use a charger that is rated higher than the OEM charger, which is 2.1A. I tested this with a 2.4A charger that has a pre-attached Micro USB 2.0 end).

All that said, I refer back to my title. This tablet is a BEAST! It handles almost everything I throw at it with no lag whatsoever. The S-Pen works great as well, but I have never had any issues with the S-Pen on any Samsung phone or tablet to date. The battery life is, IMO, better than the 10.1 2014 (before it received the KitKat update). I usually don’t use my 12.2 everyday, so it can sit in my bag for a day or two unused and the battery will show a difference of maybe 5-6% over two days.

Verizon LTE works great on it too. usually I am getting around 30Mbps Down (in and around Chicago, IL).

Video playback is great on this as well. I use several apps (Plex, Emit, Bubble UPNP, MX Player, etc) and I have not had any issues with any of these.

Also, I have confirmed that the SanDisk 128GB MicroSD card does work without issues in this tablet.

If you travel a lot and are looking for a external battery for this tablet, look for one with that is at least twice the capacity of the internal battery (9,500mAh). It will most likely only charge the tablet once if it’s just twice the capacity, but it should still work.

Overall, even with the learning curve, I really enjoy this tablet and I definitely recommend it, if a bigger-sized tablet is what you are looking for.

Great tablet and for me an Ultrabook replacement, April 2, 2014
By

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 4G LTE Tablet, Black 12.2-Inch 32GB (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)

First a little about me and the way I use my computing devices. I am a business traveler who spends 80% of his time on the road. I fly every week. I own a Samsung Note 3 which is my go to device for communication and email when I’m not at a desk or hotel room. I use it constantly and since most of my time is spent with only the phone in hand, I do a lot of document reviews on the Note 3. I also have a Kindle Fire HDX8.9 which I love for its speed, size and integration with Amazon Prime as I watch a lot of movies to kill time on my weekly flights. I also own but don’t use the original Samsung 10.1 Tablet which I retired when I purchased the fire. So I’m pretty familiar with Samsung mobile products and Touchwiz. My laptop is a Asus Zen Ultrabook which is an I7 machine with 256k SSD. The computer’s processing power is great but the weak points are the display and the keyboard.

I played with the Note Pro 12.2 LTE a few times and quickly noticed how fast it was in comparison to my original Samsung Tablet. Opening up 5 windows at a time didn’t phase it and I have never experienced any lag to this day.

Since I mostly review Office documents, Word, Excel, Project and Powerpoint, I was anxious to see how the included software, Hancom Office, performed. So far so good. I’m typing this review in Hancom Word and have been reviewing both Powerpoint and Excell files these last couple of days with Hancom and I’m more than happy with both its display and editing abilities. I have a couple of Project apps which I bought for my Note 3 which I have yet to try on this tablet but I assume they will work.

You may not know this but Microsoft has released it’s Office for Android product but as of today the Play Store shows it as incompatable with this Note Pro.

The part of my workflow which I have not overcome yet is email. I have an antiquated email server which I connect to with Outlook and download mail to my computer. Of course I can do that with any number of Android mail apps but here’s where I’ve run into a road block. My email server only goves me 100mb of server space and that fills up quickly with all the attachments I get. So what I do on my Ultrabook with Outlook is to move those emails off the server into Outlooks local file folders. What I cannot find in Android is any mail client which allows the creation of Local Folders. Many will allow you to create IMAP folders biut those folders are then synced with the mail server so that wont do me any good. What I’ve settled on for a while anyway is creating 3gig or less in size .pst files which I have copied over to my Tablet. I’m not copying my whole work are as it’s huge but I am trying to get the last couple of years of email over to my tablet.

So other than the mail snafu, which is pretty unique to my situation I would think I’ve been able to migrate over to the tablet.

The multitasking is great. I really dont see myself opening up 5 windows but I have been using two pretty regulaily. What you see in the ads and reviews is that you can open up four windows, one in each quadrant. While that’s true it is not the way I use it. What I found is that by sliding open the tray from the right side to uncover your apps, rather than a long press and drag I can simply tap the icon and a resizable window pops up. This window has the look and feel of a WIndows window and can be resized and placed anywhere on the screen. It works great and is more flexible than the fixed position multitasking which is often talked about and noted for its inflexibility.

So for the included apps, email, Chrome, Youtube, Hancom, Gallery eand a multitude of others have worked just fine. I’ve not had a single issue.

One concern with the Verizon model is that it is only available with 32gig. That means you really need an SD card if you have a lot of work data or movies to store. I made the mistake of purchasing a fast UHS-1 80gb/sec Class 10 card which was twice the price of a 30gb/second card and which benchmarks out in the mid teens for both read and write, both in the tablet (tablet storage to ext sd card) and out(PC to tablet file transfer). I also benchmarked it in the tablet against another card I had, a Class 6 card. The speed difference was minimal. Bottom line, dont bother to buy a fast and expensive micro SD card.

Unlike the wireless version the Verizon Note does not come with at least two of the freebees, RemotePC and Evernote. Those two subscriptions are not included with this tablet. All the other offers are.

I did also purchase the ZAGG Cover-Fit bluetooth keyboard and it is a pleasure to type on as compared to my Zenbook. This accessery is well worth looking at.

The tablet has a USB 3 cable/charger and it charges in a few hours if you leave it off. It will not charge while connected to my Zenbook even though I have it plugged into a…
